Who is Prof. Dr. Eftal Güdemez?
He was born in 1970 in Gaziantep. Between 1987-1993, he studied medicine at Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara and between 1993-1998, completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology in the Ministry of Health Ankara Training and Research Hospital Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
In 1995 and 1996, he completed his fellowship in hand surgery at the Department of Hand and Microsurgery at VKV American Hospital, Istanbul, and between 1997 and 1998, completed fellowship in microsurgery at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation OH, USA. Between 1999 and 2000, he worked as an orthopedic specialist as military service at Istanbul Haydarpaşa Gülhane Military Medical Academy.
Between 2000-2004, he worked as a faculty member and consultant in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Kırıkkale University School of Medicine and in 2004 became an associate professor. Since 2004, Prof. Güdemez has been carrying out the work of hand surgery and microsurgery at the American Hospital, Istanbul. In 2005, he was elected as an active member of Travelling Fellowship Program of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He completed this program in San Antonio Hand Center, San Antonio, TX; Department of Hand Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; and Department of Plastic Surgery, Washington University, St. Louis, MO, USA.
He is an active member of Turkish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Turkish Society for Surgery of the Hand and Upper Extremity, Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), European Federations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT), and International Societies of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT). He has more than forty papers published in international journals, an up to fifty international conferences, and other presentations.
Since 2013, Prof. Güdemez has been working as an academic staff and active faculty member in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Koç University School of Medicine.
He has European Hand Diploma accredited by Federations of European Societies of Surgery of the Hand (FESSH).
